Abstract There was significant commitment from partners to scale up prevention and the development of the ICS offered opportunities to embed it across the NHS. A Prevention Board was established to bring about change at a larger footprint. In November 2018 a workshop was held to engage key senior system leaders to explore how prevention could be delivered at scale. The following was agreed:Reframe the conversation about health rather than ill-health Ensure that all ICS transformation programmes are working towards a common vision of health and wellbeing Build knowledge, skills and confidence in the whole workforce to support person-centred, wellbeing and selfcare conversationsEnsure that the whole health and care system connects people into communities and assets in their lives, rather than creating a reliance on high cost, institution centred care.Progress to date includes:Prevention is one of the 6 ICS priorities for 2019/20Agreement to focus on supporting the NHS to scale up its contribution to prevention initially in the areas of tobacco and alcohol North East Commissioning Support Unit (NECS) have invested £1million to recruit Consultants in Public Health to be based in NHS Foundation Trusts and to support the development of an ICS prevention narrative £400k Cancer Alliance funding to recruit a dedicated ICS tobacco lead, alcohol programme and a smoking and cancer marketing campaign £280k (NHSE and HEE) funding to deliver MECC at scale across the ICSCVD Prevention Network established External funding details N/A
