Abstract IntroductionA recent audit of HIV partner notification (PN) showed that 18% of partners were infected with HIV; however, national data reports that it was 4%. The discrepancy in the partner positivity rate highlights the need to ensure the right individuals are tested. We therefore analysed if a digital tool could support effective PN delivery to optimise testing of partners and those with a reactive HIV self test.MethodsPN data was obtained from a digital tool used for patients with a single diagnosis of HIV recruited by a range of providers between 1st December 2017 - 31st March 2018. Contacts tested per index patient are shown in square parenthesis [target 0.8 at three months]. ResultsSix providers used the digital PN tool for 29 patients with HIV during the study period. These patients reported 72 partners with 59 (82%) being contactable. PN was completed for 6 partners [0.21] before the digital tool was used, the tool verified partner attendance at clinic or the partner self-verified in 14 cases [0.48] and a further 1 partner [0.03] were verified in a follow up call. In total 21 [0.72] partners were tested within four weeks. ConclusionProviders using the PN digital tool almost achieved the target in one third of the time but this achievement represents a fraction of contactable partners. A complementary PN appointment module has now been developed to further support partner access and confirmatory testing for those with a reactive HIV self test www.sxt.org.uk/hiv External funding details Comic Relief / MAC AIDS Fund
