Abstract The #onething campaign was launched in February 2015 as part of the prevention agenda from the CVD Programme Board. Public Health worked with the communications team, psychologists (Behavioural Insights), CCG and Borough councils to develop the #onething campaign that works both as a social media campaign and a face to face intervention. The idea is to support people to make one small change to individuals lifestyles which will in turn have a positive impact in their health & wellbeing and empower them to make further changes in their lifestyle. The approach harnessed the power of MECC and mini health checks. This option allowed opportunistic engagement with residents in high risk communities of North Warwickshire to undertake quick mini-health checks and using the MECC approach to assist them to self identify the issues they thought they needed to address and offer the relevant information and services. With over 600 #onething pledges (with photos) made by residents. The campaign supports individuals to understand their health needs with mini health checks. The campaign undertook over 570 health checks carried out at 36 events which helped inform individuals their health needs and using the MECC framework these individuals were supported with the relevant information and services that can help (leaflets, website and emails). Of these mini health checks 16% of the individuals were referral to their GP as they had high blood pressure / blood sugar level readings so that they could get the appropriate diagnosis, support and help.
